My work has for some time been highly sculptural in nature with a particular interest in natural materials, their textures and surface patterns. I combine simple geometric shapes together to form abstracted ‘figures’, which are often wall-mounted as a traditional framed picture might be.

Figure A is a drawn lithograph based on a detail of a cast paper sculpture. As well as being able to reproduce every nuance of the drawn mark, working on a slab of ancient stone has always seemed very apt to my working methods and interest in elemental materials.
