In 2004 Renato Galante was invited to make some prints at Edinburgh Printmakers. Born in Taranto, Italy in 1962, Galante has since 1994, lived and worked in Amsterdam. On starting this project, both printmaking and the medium of lithography were new to him. Exploring the effect produced by tusche wash and spray paint on stone allowed Galante to develop a way of working that allowed fluidity, apparent in his paintings, to be paralleled in his printmaking.
