Kaye Green was born in Ulverstone, Tasmania, Australia in 1953 and completed her BA in Visual Arts at the Tasmanian School of Art in Hobart and her MA at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, USA. During her time in Albuquerque she also studied at the prestigious Tamarind Institute of Lithography.
Kaye has lived, worked and exhibited in Japan, USA, Belgium, New Zealand, Finland and most Australian States. She has had 18 solo exhibitions and has been involved in numerous group and mixed shows.
In 1984 she was awarded an Australian Government residency to establish a lithography studio at Griffith University in Brisbane. She has made lithographs in many wonderful studios including The Frans Masereel Studio in Belgium, The Grafiris Printmaking Studio in Helsinki, Finland and at The Tamarind Institute on a further visit to the USA.
Kaye has completed a number of commissions and her work is represented in National and International Public Collections including the Australian National Gallery.
“I have been making lithographs consistently since 1979 and find drawing on a lithographic stone a most enlivening and spine-tingling experience. I feel an almost magnetic attraction to lithographic stones and feel so complete when I can listen to beautiful music and make lithographs.
