My work is based around growing up in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear. It always tells a story of a lost love, or perhaps of a lost football game. Each one is drawn from memory using loosely applied marks and gestures that try to create a dynamic tension on the page. Hopefully when people see my work it will stimulate them into thinking about what is happening, or what has just happened.
The reason why I work within the lithographic medium is that I love the marks it creates both accidental and intended. Every time the sheet is pulled back from the stone or plate, it is always a surprise, some times good, sometimes bad, but then again that is the point.
