My body of work addresses the properties of the body and the interweaving of human corporeal ties. i utilize printmaking to address how science and technology affect perception and visual language. Although I work with several printmaking techniques, photo-lithography has been a major focus for the past few years. My hybrid approach balances new technologies, digital editing with traditional processes of printing by hand. The physical work of printing on a traditional lithography press engages me creatively and intellectually.
At The University of Puget Sound in Washington, USA, I teach printmaking, photography and digital imaging. The printmaking courses that I teach include instruction in stone, aluminium plate, positive photoplate and polyester plate lithography. The production of traditional or mechanical prints builds a basis for understanding the reproducibility and dissemination of images in our current electronic world.
